Your time is a gift.
From dog-walking to everything in between, we couldn't do the work without our volunteers.
Below are some ways you can help:

-
Dog walkers: Provide much needed exercise and enrichment for our shelter dogs. You will be provided with basic training, and continued dog handling training. Dog walkers play a very important role in improving the quality of life for our shelter dogs, ultimately helping their chances of adoption.
-
Dog kennel cleaners: Assist the CARE team in cleaning and tidying up kennels and the shelter. Help is especially needed in the morning!
-
Cat room volunteers: Our cat room volunteers help care for and socialize with our cats and kittens.
-
Laundry room volunteers: Our laundry room volunteers are vital to keeping blankets and towels stocked. They also wash dishes and enrichment items, ensuring each animal always has clean bowls and chew toys.
-
Enrichment team volunteers: The enrichment team makes and passes out daily enrichment items, like stuffed Kongs, to our shelter dogs. If you love dogs, but aren't able to be a volunteer dog walker then you will love this volunteer role! The dogs are always so happy to see you!
-
Clinic/medical volunteer: Assist the medical team with passing out meds, spay/neuter and other general clinic needs.
-
Adoption event coordinator: If you have a knack for organizing and enjoy working with the public, join us as an adoption event coordinator. CARE STL hosts many off-site adoption events throughout the year and needs event coordinators to set up the CARE table, greet the public and ensure the event runs successfully. (CARE handles coordination with the venue and those bringing shelter or foster pups.)
-
Front Lobby volunteers: Greet visitors, answer phone calls and support our staff through a variety of administrative tasks.
-
Maintenance crew: Are you handy? Or enjoy organizing? Cleaning? We always need help with general shelter maintenance to keep things running smoothly.
Do you have special skills that you would like to lend to CARE STL?
