Weng
WENG HORAK, Founder and CEO of the Center for Animal Rescue and Enrichment of St. Louis — CARE STL
Weng is a Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) led organization. She is Asian-American who immigrated to St. Louis in 2009 and founded the organization in 2018 to create a supportive community rooted in collaboration, compassion, and caring for people and animals. Weng envisions a world where all animals are nurtured in body, mind, and heart. CARE STL operates the City of St. Louis Animal Care and Control facility with a live release rate of 96.64%.

EMILY ADELMANN, Director of Vet Clinic Services
Emily was a Veterinary Technician in shelter medicine for 8 years and is now our Director of Veterinary Services. Emily loves shelter medicine, working with our pets and community.
Senna
SENNA VANGUARDIA, Clinic Team Lead/Lead Veterinary Assistant
My passion for animals began at a young age in the Philippines, where I brought home nearly every stray puppy I found. Today, I'm committed to shelter medicine and love the work I do at CARE's veterinary clinic, where I can provide compassionate and resourceful medical care to the animals in need.

DR. MORGAN, Medical Director
Dr. Morgan is a 2017 Mizzou graduate with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Master in Public Health. Her passions are reading, napping with her cats, life saving, and of course—shelter medicine!
Dr. Bailie
DR. BAILIE, Veterinarian
Dr. Bailie is a 2018 graduate from the University of Missouri with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Her passions (aside from shelter medicine) include crocheting, camping, playing sand volleyball, and spending time with her husband and their many fur babies.

There are many hard days in animal welfare but the moment a dog looks at me, nudges me with their head, gives me happy wiggles, I know it will be okay. They are the reason I love my job so much.

I'm passionate about making a difference for animals and the people who love them. Working at CARE lets me be a voice for those who can't speak and help pets find the loving homes they deserve.
